While most teachers will tell you that redundancy within a text is something you should avoid - and they are right to a degree - there is another side to redundancy that is often ignored and it doesn't necessarily have to be bad.

It helps create a tone. Using some key words within your paragraphs and sentences will help you create a mood and a setting for a story. While it would be dangerous for a whole book to have the exact same tone because it can get boring, this can really help when it's a short story or, in this case, a one shot fic.

I'm not saying that I succeeded within the fic, but I can assure you: I repeated words constantly within the fic knowingly. I'm sorry that it didn't work for you.

However, if you mean the fact that I use the names of the characters rather than 'the blonde', 'the brunette', or thing like that, and thus the names appear rather frequently? Then I'm very, very sorry, but I'm going to keep on using names and keep the epithet to a minimum.

Dear specific Clerith writers,

The next time you write a fanfiction for Cloud and Aerith... put it under Cloud and Aerith!! I am so tired of clicking on a fanfiction that has been labeled as a Cloud and Tifa, under Romance and finding out that it's all about Cloud and Aerith. I understand the whole,"But, it's main focus is on Cloud and Tifa, and how Tifa is responding to Cloud and Aerith's romantic relationship..." Yeeeeeah. The ones that I'm complaining about don't involve or mention Tifa whatsoever.

I have actually kept up my letter writing to one a day, and it has been fun.

Does anyone have recommendations for piercers in Portland who do triangles?

I looked on BMEzine & only saw Adorn mentioned, & I have no experience with them, nor have I heard anything about them. I typically go to Nick at STTP, although I bought jewelry from Robot & fell in love with the male piercer there, so I've had--or am willing to have--great experiences with both.

Any thoughts on location, piercer, or the process in general?

Or, bonus question: how do you feel about metal in panties?

Umm, I'm not so sure why Nodoka would need to make a deal with Ritsu not to shut down the club just to see Yui cause really they live pretty close to each other. So as such, I do not see why she would need to threaten non-con with Ritsu. And in regards to another fic, given how Ui was serving tea for everyone in episode 3 I do not see why she'd be getting jealous of Yui's friend or her guitar.

I've had a couple of really rough days and so I decided to turn to you for a pick-me-up *g*.

I'm looking for stories in which Dean is hurt or sick and Sam takes care of him. I'll take J2 as well (Jensen hurt/Jared comfort). Any rating is fine. Gen or wincest, short or long, it's all good. Whatever you have, I'll take and be eternally grateful.

Bonus if Dean feels unwanted or not needed (maybe tries to leave for Sam's sake) and Sam has to convince him otherwise.

I'd prefer stories set within the time span of the series or after.

I haven't come across any fics like this, but I'd really be interested in reading one. Has anyone read any fics where Sam and Dean discover that they have an older brother? I'd be especially curious to read something where Dean has to deal with being the younger brother--not always the one in charge and maybe someone being protective of him for a change.

I'd prefer non-wincest but would be fine with wincest too.

I remember a specific fic where Sam and Dean were living together during Standord years, and Sam and Jess were together and maybe even engaged. Jess finds out that Sam and Dean have a sexual relationship and have had for a long time, I believe.

Also, I'd love any recs with similar themes...Jess finds out that Sam and Dean are together or were together in the past or got together last night or whatever.

I'm looking for a couple of different things.

1) This one is a specific fic, that I found on a slash archive that has since closed down. I'd only gotten a few chapters into the story before I lost it, and I really want to read it again. In it, Dean and Sam had a falling out, going their own ways. Dean keeps hunting, and Sam winds up with amnesia, and gets picked up by a pimp who sells him out to some really nasty people. Dean and Sam wind up crossing paths again, and when Dean sees Sam with one of his johns, he beats the guy up and takes Sam with him, although, at the point where I stopped, Dean hadn't told Sam about their being brothers.

2) I'm looking for any fics where the boys aren't raised by John, but are raised by another hunter, like Bobby, or Caleb, or Pastor Jim, or Ellen.

Any stories out there with the boys where someone has a really bad sore throat or strep or tonsillitis? Can be JA or JP or Sam or Dean.

First, I'm looking for a Sam self!hurt fic. I think it was gen, but it might've been het or even slash. The only thing I can remember is that it was an AU, Sam was a lawyer (or had some other professional job), Sam carries around cigarettes and leaves to go smoke, but Dean knows that Sam's not a smoker and that he's secretly (to some people) going off to burn himself. I think he's married to Jess and she knows about it and Sam's in denial to Dean saying he's got it under control. Anyway, anyone know what I'm talking about.

I'm looking for fics where Michael possesses Dean, because Dean said yes, or for any other reason. I'd love to see Michael try and convince him the way that Lucifer started paying visits to Sam. It would also be incredibly cool if Sam was possessed by Lucifer too.
But I'll take anything even vaguely in the same vein. I'd prefer not Wincest, but if it is used in a messed up kind of way and not like it's normal and alright then I'll read it.

I was doing a closet purge today, and I found my old engagement ring in the depths of a drawer. My ex specifically said previously that he didn't want it back, and I could use a bit of extra cash to help pay some medical bills.

It's a pretty modest ring, but it is made of quality materials. (i.e. real gold and small diamonds) Does anyone have a tip on where I might have the best luck with selling it for a fair price, besides the obvious pawn shop or Craigslist? Also, I know diamonds don't exactly hold their value well, so is this even worth the energy?

I just wanted to thank anyone that took two seconds to try and help me out with my computer problems, I ended up getting rid of it, all it took was not being lazy. For those who said simply "get a mac" I have one and I dont see how that fixes my pc.

So... you have a couple of characters who are good at killing the supernatural beasties out there. They know how to take down all sorts of nasties. They're also brothers- Sam and Dean Winchester.

They're experts. In their own canon.

You have another show where there are supernatural creatures that follow different rules, with people who know how to take them out. Those people are Buffy Summers and her friends.

Do everyone a favor and don't portray Sam and Dean as idiots if they encounter some creature from Buffy.

Seriously, don't. Sam and Dean are experts in their own canon. Just because what they do won't work in Buffy the Vampire Slayer world does not make them stupid.

Also, you really have to work to make those two canons mesh well. The rules for vampires, werewolves, and demons are very different. You, buddy, just make it so the Winchesters are wrong about almost everything, and they only deal with minor threats- and that's not the way to do it.

Of course, I think I've seen it done the opposite way, where the BtVS crew doesn't know what's out there, too. It's just as annoying that way, too.
